H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, has paid a glowing tribute to the courageous UAE Armed Forces' servicemen taking part in the Saudi-led Arab coalition's Operation Restoring Hope. He greeted the first batch of the UAE Armed Forces expected to return home from Yemen after the mission accomplished, noting that the second batch of Emirati troops will be deployed in Yemen to replace the first batch.
The Ruler of Fujairah wished well to the second batch heroes to discharge their mission in Yemen.
In a speech marking the imminent return of the UAE Armed Forces' first batch, Sheikh Hamad said, "Our sons in the Armed Forces nationwide deserve salute for their sacrifices to make our country safer and stable against the terrorists and aggressors. They will shield it with their precious blood to keep the nation's flag flying high."
He underlined that "Our courageous soldiers made sacrifices in the field in Yemen,' citing many victories achieved there, among others, liberation of the historic Mareb and the recapture of Mareb Dam, which is linked to the UAE memory, especially the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who had ordered the rebuilding of the Mareb Dam. "The UAE Armed Forces will remain a source of pride and security. They stood for the pledge to safeguard the nation."
Addressing the soldiers, he said, "You deserve our honour, prestige and confidence. Your sacrifices are invaluable. You have left your families and grant your lives to the cause of this beloved country. You are the hope of this nation."
He added, "As we renew our confidence in the brave servicemen deployed in Yemen and their comrades who will replace them to complete the Operation Restoring Hope and the Rebuilding of Yemen, we remember their martyred comrades who fell in line of the duty taking part in the Arab coalition in Yemen."
The Ruler of Fujairah concluded, "The martyrs adorned and honoured the country with their heroism, as they died for the glory of the UAE. We pledge the UAE Flag for which the martyrs died for will be kept flying high."
