Le Meridien Al Aqah Donates AED 11,000 To Rehabilitation Centre For Disabled In Dibba, Fujairah (13 July 2010)
The Rehabilitation Centre for Disabled, Dibba, Fujairah received a donation of AED 11,000 from Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort. The donation will be used to develop and upgrade the center’s facilities for educational and other aid supplies for individuals that have hearing, visual or movement disabilities.
The General Manager Mr. Patrick Antaki handed the support check to the center’s representative, Ms. Shaikah Al Mutava. Commenting on the donation, Antaki said: "Helping the community and preserving nature is an integral part of our commitment to corporate social responsibility. Despite the current economic conditions, we remain firm to our commitments to continue with our activities to support people and charity organizations in need.”
“Supporting the training and rehabilitation centers will make a significant contribution to enable the individuals to live a much more productive life. On receiving aid equipment and educational supplies, it will help them gain greater independence and assist them to get integrated within the society”- He asserted.
Other local community initiatives that have been supported recently by the resort include a donation of AED 11,000 to the angel appeal for seafarers support boat, fund raising initiatives for Dubai Autism Centre, Breast Cancer Awareness Program, and other similar activities.
